This dish melts in your mouth. The credit goes to my future mother-in-law. Each fillet should be approximately 2.5cm thick.

My German grandmother used to make these every Christmas. She said using small eggs was a must.

This is a wonderful celebration cake-chocolate and cream. You can prepare the syrup before you start the cake and let it cool.

This green version of classic vichyssoise is enriched with yoghurt rather than cream. Traditionally served chilled, the soup can also be served hot, so it is ideal for days when the weather is changeable.

Sweet and hot salsa with mangoes, chilli and avocado. Use red capsicums instead of chillies if you want a mild version. Make this close to serving time.

I think French toast and bananas are a perfect pair. For a full on brunch, garnish with fresh strawberries, a sprinkle of icing sugar and drizzle of maple syrup.

A very simple but totally delicious vegetarian dish. Fennel is baked with cream, sour cream and Parmesan cheese. This is an ideal accompaniment to many tomato based Italian dishes as the creaminess balances very well with the tomato flavour.

Salmon is one of the best sources of omega-fatty acids. It also provides valuable minerals, while fresh salmon in particular supplies copious amounts of niacin.

Freeze the bananas before you use them in this drink and you wont need to water the taste down with ice. The blend of bananas, pineapple juice, coconut and rum is fantastic and extra creamy without being gluggy. Cheers!
