Bite size meatballs to be served with your choice of dipping sauce whether it be BBQ, tomato, sweet chilli or soy sauce. Beef, pork or chicken mince may be used.

Serves: 8 

  • 650g pork mince
  • 1/2 red onion, finely diced
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated tasty cheese
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten
  • 2 cloves crushed garlic
  • 2 fresh basil leaves, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon parsley, finely chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • To serve: choice of tomato sauce, bbq sauce, soy sauce or sweet chilli sauce

Preparation:25min  ›  Cook:35min  ›  Ready in:1hour 

  1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees C. Line a tray with baking paper.
  2. Place all ingredients in a large bowl and mix well with clean wet hands.
  3. Roll mixture into small balls and place onto tray.
  4. Bake 30 - 40 minutes until golden.
  5. Serve with sauce and serviettes.

Really nice. Used half the garlic only as I was making them for kiddies who don't enjoy spicy food. Next time I might cook the onions slightly because even though they were very finely chopped, they were still crunchy which was nice, but not so much for children. This recipe is definitely a lunch box keeper. - 20 May 2012
