This recipe is one that was passed down from a family friend, and every one that tastes it loves it. Virtually mess free, no mixer required, just a bowl and spoon... now that's my favorite kind of baking...
The really good thing about this is that it is SO easy to do, that when I get a hankering for it, my son can make it for us easily. Previously, he just attempted packet mixes, but this is a good bridging recipe. Very yummy.
This was my first try at banana Bread,it always sounded too difficult. I added walnuts and dried cranberries. When I was slicing it my husband asked for some which is very, very unusual as he does not eat cooked fruit. He said he could not resist because the kitchen smelled so good. Now he goes looking for over-ripe bananas.
Thank You.
Good quick recipe. Lovely and very banana-y. Very dense and cake-like (i.e, not bread-like) but had a lovely flavour and was so quick and easy to make!
Thanks for sharing the recipe
for a gluten and dairy-free alternative, use gluten free flour (self raising) and dairy free margarine (most margarines contain milk solids - I used nutellex) and it smells and tastes delicious!
Altered ingredient amounts.
Only had 3 bananas, so hoping it turns out ok, also used brown sugar.....Need something to fill in the hour cos I'm drooling already!! Thank you :o)
I'm not much of a cook, more of an eater, but I promised myself I would have a go at banana bread and chose this recipe, I've just taken it out of the oven and looks and smells divine, thanks for the inspiration 'canttrustaskinnycook' much appreciated
