    Serves: 8 

    • 2kg ripe tomatoes, cut in half
    • 1/2 cup olive oil
    • 1 tbs salt
    • 1 tbs cracked black pepper
    • I knob garlic
    • handful of chillies, whole
    • Balsamic vinegar, good sprinkling
    • Sugar

    Preparation:5min  ›  Cook:1hour  ›  Ready in:1hour5min 

    1. Preheat oven to 200°C (180°C for fan forced).Use big baking dish, swish around tomato halves in all ingredients except sugar then arrange tomatoes cut side up and sprinkle each tomato with a little sugar.Bake in oven for 1 hour.Puree all and sieve out seeds and skins. pour into sterilized jars.Serve with pasta.
