Honey Ginger Glazed Ham

    This is very juicy and tasty ham, enjoy. Use a moderate oven and big tip - baste frequently - every 15-20 min.

    Serves: 155 

    • 8kg cooked leg ham
    • cloves for decorating
    • 2 1/4 cups of water (560mls)
    • 2/3 cup honey (230g)
    • 1/2 cup glace' ginger chopped coarsely
    • 1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar (100g)

    Preparation:5min  ›  Cook:1hour  ›  Ready in:1hour5min 

    1. Cut through rind 10cm, run thumb under and remove.
    2. Make shallow cuts diagonally 3cm intervals, place a clove in the centre of each triangle.
    3. Combine ingredients in small pan on a low heat until dissolved.
    4. Pour remaining wate into baking dish.
    5. Brush ham frequently, uncovered for 1 hour Cover shank with foil.

    Did not have the glacé ginger but used a slightly smaller quantity of Masterfoods finely chopped ginger and was magnificent  -  29 Dec 2015
