BBQ Teriyaki Tuna Steak

    45 minutes

Tuna and teriyaki both come out wonderful on the BBQ, so it is only natural to combine the two flavours as done in this recipe.

    Serves: 4

    • 1 cup (250ml) teriyaki sauce
    • 3/4 cup (200ml) olive oil
    • 2 garlic cloves, crushed
    • 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
    • 4 tuna fillets
    • oil for brushing on grill hotplate

    Preparation:5min  ›  Cook:10min  ›  Extra time:30min marinating  ›  Ready in:45min

    1. In a large resealable plastic bag, combine the teriyaki sauce, oil, garlic and pepper. Place the tuna in the bag. Seal the bag with as little air in it as possible. Give the bag a good shake to coat the tuna fillets. Marinate for 30 minutes in the refrigerator.
    2. Meanwhile, preheat the barbecue for high heat and lightly oil cooking grill hotplate.
    3. Remove tuna from marinade, and place on barbecue. Cook for about 10 minutes or to desired doneness.

Allow 30 minutes for the tuna to marinate.

Easy and great flavour.. a good meal for weeknights when you don't have the time but want something decadent... Thanks  -  10 Dec 2012

My 12yr old daughter made this for dinner last night, we used salmon fillets instead of tuna as that's all I could get in my rush. It was very tasty and I look forward to trying it again with the tuna.  -  19 Oct 2010

This is a great recipe! Also - regarding the nutritional information (so many reviewers were overly concerned about fat and sodium) - you don't drink the marinade!  -  29 Sep 2008
