I found this recipe years ago, and it, without doubt, the easiest, cheapest best way of making Turkish-style flat bread. Only 2 ingredients!! What could be easier?
Used different ingredients. I tried to make this like a Pide-a Spinach, Cheese and Garlic Pide-as a homage to the Turkish family who used to run Girne Pide in Redfern when we lived in Sydney. So I did the dough as per this recipe then filled it with grated zucchini(no spinach in the fridge), feta and garlic- baked it for 15ish minutes at 220 degrees. Yep....it was almost there in taste but I guess I'd have to try a little more complex recipe for the bread texture. But thanks for posting-it was fun! - 13 Nov 2008
Something else. The pre-cooked dough can also be used as a casing for leftovers. Add last nights Indian take-away, ot left over spag bog sauce and then pan fry. Comes out like a pasty! - 12 Nov 2008
