- 450g butter, softened
- 200g caster sugar
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 500g plain flour

- Preheat oven to 180 C.
- Cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Stir in vanilla; add flour and mix well.
- Roll out to 1cm thickness and cut out desired shapes with biscuit cutters. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes.

Wow! Half the butter though please! Way too much butter. I had to add several cups of flour which made them a bit chalky but still quite good. - 14 Dec 2011
i used half the quantity of ingredients just to try them and i still somehow got 12 biscuits (medium size). I had to leave them in the oven for 20 minutes in total and they were scrumptious!!! - 12 Dec 2012
