A rich, creamy gnocchi recipe that uses premade gnocchi so is simple to make but tastes like restaurant quality. Serve with a side salad and crusty garlic bread.


Serves: 4 

  • 1/4 cup crumbled mild gorgonzola cheese
  • 125g butter, room temperature
  • 3 tablespoons grated parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup whipping cream at room temperature
  • pepper, to taste
  • a large packet (625g) plain gnocchi

  1. Bring a large pot of water to a boil and warm a metal mixing bowl by placing it on top briefly.
  2. Put the gorgonzola into the bowl with butter and a pinch of pepper and blend until creamy with a wooden spoon. Stir in parmesan and the cream. Keep warm.
  3. Add gnocchi carefully to boiling water. Stir and cook briskly. When they come to surface, remove with a slotted spoon (don't overcook) and transfer to the bowl with the sauce.
  4. Stir well to coat with the sauce and serve immediately.
