Grandma's Hamburgers

    45 minutes

A recipe handed down to me from my late grandmother. Everybody in our family adores these and they taste great the next day too.

    Serves: 4

    • 500g beef mince
    • 1 carrot, grated
    • 1 packet chicken noodle soup mix
    • 1 egg
    • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
    • 2 tablespoons tomato sauce
    • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
    • 2 tablespoons oil

    Preparation:15min  ›  Cook:30min  ›  Ready in:45min

    1. Break mince into large bowl then add carrot, soup mix, egg and sauces. Mix well with hands.
    2. Shape into about eight large flat patties.
    3. Heat oil in medium hot frypan and fry patties in batches of four, depending on the size of your frypan, for about 3-5 minutes each side or until nicely browned.
    4. Serve on hamburger buns with your choice of toppings such as a fried egg, slices of beetroot, lettuce, cheese and bbq sauce.

The ingredients intrigued me enough to try this recipe. I'm glad I tried it! Can you say delicious?? We grilled ours outside on our BBQ pit. This one is definitely a keeper!  -  31 May 2013
