You can never go wrong with these Sausage Rolls as a snack, lunch or party food and you can decide how big or small you want them to be. Make sure you have heaps of tomato sauce to go with them.
Preheat oven to 200C and lightly grease a baking or biscuit tray.
2.
Mix mince, parsley, salt and pepper in a bowl. Add lightly beaten egg and Worcestershire sauce and mix in well.
3.
Cut each pastry sheet into three equal-sized pieces. Make a roll of the mince lengthways on each piece. Brush the edges of the pastry on each side of the mince strip with milk. Roll each strip firmly then brush the top with milk.
4.
Trim the edges if required, then cut each long roll into small or average sized sausage rolls- whichever you wish.
5.
Place on a greased oven tray. Bake for 30 minutes or until golden brown.
we all loved it and ate almost all (everyone from mum and dad to 10 yr and 3 yr old)
TWEEK:
1/4 tsp each of marjoram, paprika, sage leaves (dry) and half the recommended pepper
My Aussie husband, now living in the US, always wishes he could have a meat pie and sausage roll. This recipe came through tonight! I added onion as well, and they turned out perfect. "Just like the real thing".
Altered ingredient amounts.
Using minced pork. I used dried parsley so reduced it to 1 tbsp, also I used a mix of ground and cracked black pepper and finally as an extra I added ¼ tsp of nutmeg. They came out great
I'm afraid I must agree with the first reviewer. They are nothing like sausage rolls should taste, especially without the correct ingredients or seasoning. Try again!
