Combine the strawberries, rockmelon, honeydew melon and plums in a large bowl. Combine the apple juice, brown sugar, lemon juice, lemon rind and cinnamon in a small bowl. Pour the juice mixture over the fruit mixture and toss gently to coat. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, stirring once.
To serve, divide the fruit mixture and juices evenly among six pretty bowls. As a dessert, serve with crisp biscuits of your choice and, if you wish, whipped cream or ice cream.
Mixed Citrus Compote: Prepare the citrus compote following the method described for the mixed melon compote, but substituting 4 medium oranges, peeled and segmented, and 2 medium grapefruit, peeled and segmented, for the mixed pieces of rockmelon, honeydew melon and plums.
