Custard apples taste like a delicate combination of pineapple, papaya and banana. They're even more appealing in this delicious creamy smoothie.
1 ripe custard apple
1½ cups skim milk
2 teaspoons lime juice
1 teaspoon caster sugar

- Halve the custard apple, remove the seeds and spoon out the flesh.
- Place the custard apple flesh, milk, lime juice and sugar in a blender and blend until smooth.
- Chill for 30 minutes, give it a stir and then serve.
You may need to adjust the flavour with a bit more sugar or lime juice depending on the ripeness of your custard apple. Add teaspoonsful at a time, blend, then taste.
