Butterscotch sauce is super easy to make and a delicious sticky treat when poured over ice cream and sliced bananas.

Serves: 6 

  • 50g unsalted butter
  • 3/4 cup light brown sugar
  • 1 (170g) tin evaporated milk

Preparation:5min  ›  Cook:10min  ›  Ready in:15min 

  1. Gently heat the butter in a small saucepan until melted then add the sugar and stir until dissolved. Cook gently for a further 3 minutes.
  2. Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the evaporated milk. Return to the heat and bring back to the boil. Serve warm, or cool, chill and reheat gently when required.
