Chocolate Raisin Balls

    15 minutes

These little chocolate-covered raisin treats are easy to make but oh so delicious. They are fun to make with the kids.

    Serves: 20

    • 6 plain, sweet or digestive biscuits
    • 150g milk chocolate
    • 1 tablespoon golden syrup
    • 30g unsalted butter
    • 30g raisins

    Preparation:15min  ›  Ready in:15min

    1. Crush biscuits finely in a bag using a rolling pin. Put them in a bowl then add the raisins and mix.
    2. Melt one third of the chocolate with the syrup and butter either in a pot over low heat or in the microwave. (Take care not to burn chocolate.)
    3. Add the chocolate mix to the crushed biscuits and raisins and mix well until mixture all sticks together. Form into small balls (approx 2cm balls) and place in fridge on baking paper until solid.
    4. Melt the remaining chocolate and roll balls to coat completely. Return to fridge to set the chocolate. Enjoy!

Altered ingredient amounts. instead of rolling into balls, I lined a fridge safe container with greaseproof paper and spread out evenly(about 2cm thick) and set in fridge, then, melt the rest of the chocolate, pour over the top and return to the fridge, and when totally set, lift out and cut into bite size squares.  -  25 Oct 2008  (Review from Allrecipes UK & Ireland)

A friend at work made these for a charity cake sale and they disappeared extremely quickly (those that had survived his family and made it to work) they are so delicious!  -  06 Sep 2008  (Review from Allrecipes UK & Ireland)

Lovely recipe! May I just say one thing? 30g is not 1 1/2 oz, and vice versa. The actual calculation comes out at a fraction over 42 1/2g, so you are better to make it 40g, rather than 30g.  -  12 Sep 2013  (Review from Allrecipes UK & Ireland)
