Easy Muesli Bars

To this basic recipe you can add chocolate chips, sultanas, cranberries, or any other dried fruit. It will be a favourite with your kids!


Serves: 12 

  • 2 3/4 cups (250g) rolled oats
  • 2 cups (250g) plain flour
  • 185g golden syrup
  • 250g butter
  • 4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/2 cup (125g) sugar

  1. Put the oats, flour, baking powder and salt into a bowl and mix. Preheat the oven to 180 C.
  2. Put the golden syrup, butter and sugar in a saucepan, gently heat and stir until the butter is liquid and the sugar has dissolved. Add the moist ingredients to the dry ones and stir until combined.
  3. Butter and line a 30cm x 40cm baking tray. Spread the mixture across the bottom of the tin using a metal spoon.
  4. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown. Let rest for 10 minutes before cutting into bars.
