Preheat oven to 180 degrees C. Line or flour and grease a 20cm round cake tin.
Cream together butter and sugar until smooth. Beat in eggs. Sift flour and cocoa together into bowl and fold in alternately with milk. Pour into cake tin and bake for 1 hour and 10 mins or until skewer comes out clean.
Remove from oven and cool on wire rack. Slice into 3 layers and fill layers with chocolate spread. Heat remaining spread for the sauce and pour over your slice of cake.
