Orange Cream Mousse

    This is a light and fluffy orange cream mousse that is best served cold. This dessert recipe is fantastic for an elegant dinner party and will impress your guests. This is also a great cold dessert for one of our hot Aussie evenings.

    Serves: 6 

    • 1 teaspoon gelatine
    • 2 tablespoons slighty warmed orange juice
    • 1 cup cold thickened cream
    • 1/2 cup white sugar
    • 3 tablespoons grand marnier
    • 1 teaspoon grated orange zest
    • mandarin segments for garnish
    • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

    1. Disolve the gelatin in the warmed orange juice.
    2. Whip the cream and sugar in a the bowl of an electric mixture until the cream begins to thicken. Drizzle in the grand marnier, orange juice/gelatin mix and add the orange zest. Continue to whip until light and fluffy. Do not over whip it.
    3. Portion into desired dessert cups and chill for about an hour.
    4. When chilled, garnish with a mandarin segment and sprinkle with a dash of nutmeg.
