    Rice wine and ginger give this simple Chinese dish a lovely warmth in the belly! Serve with white rice and a steamed vegetable.

    Ingredients
    Serves: 2 

    • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
    • 1cm piece ginger root, thinly sliced
    • 125g lean pork, thinly sliced
    • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
    • 1/2 teaspoon dark soy sauce
    • 1/2 teaspoon salt
    • 1/3 teaspoon sugar
    • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
    • 1 spring onion, sliced
    • 1 tablespoon Chinese rice wine

    Directions
    Preparation:15min  ›  Cook:15min  ›  Ready in:30min 

    1. Heat oil in a large frypan or wok over medium-high heat. Fry ginger in hot oil until fragrant then add pork, soy sauce, dark soy sauce, salt and sugar. Cook stirring occasionally for 10 minutes.
    2. Stir in the sesame oil, spring onion and rice wine. Simmer until the pork is tender.

    tokiko, you need to have your eyes tested mate. It states "Rice wine and ginger give this simple Chinese dish a lovely warmth in the belly! Serve with white rice and a steamed vegetable."     it looks like some kind of bean-snow peas? and carrots and sprouts? where are all these in the recipe and WHY is the picture totes different from the recipe. Its frustrating! I'm like mmmmm looks good. wait? thats not even the recipe? WTF - 23 Sep 2011
