Very nice! Tastes very nice for a vegan cake! I had to cook it longer, and found that 180C burnt the top of the cake, very early into the cooking. But the flavour was awesome!  -  22 Oct 2009

My family all make variations of this recipe, my sister is the expert using choc chip with grated apple or choc chip with fresh cherries. It always comes out moist and flavoursome!! We ♥ it!! It's simple chocolate cake that satisfies the sweet tooth without being too much!  -  29 Jun 2010

Doesn't taste like your traditional cake, but that's okay - vegearian and vegan cooking often doesn't. As a substitute for non-vegan cake it's passable. I made cupcakes rather than a full cake, baking them for 20 minutes. They're a bit OTT with regards to cocoa, IMO, and taste better warm out of the oven than cooled down. I'd be inclined to drop the cocoa and raise the vanilla essence slghtly, and see if this made a difference.  -  14 Mar 2010
