    This sausage roll recipe adds fresh apple for that extra bit of flavour. You'll probably need to add seasoning if you use straight pork mince.

    Serves: 1 

    • 1 large Granny Smith apple peeled and chopped
    • 2 teaspoons water
    • 250g pork mince
    • 1 large sheet ready made puff pastry, thawed
    • 1 egg

    1. Cook the apple and water in a pot until they are mushy.
    2. Roll the mince into a long thin rectangle and spread the apple mush on top. Roll the pastry twice the width of the mince and a bit longer.
    3. Place the pastry over the top of the mince, turn over and seal underneath by brushing the beaten egg around the edges of the pastry.
    4. Turn the sausage roll over and make small slits across the top to let out the steam.
    5. Brush the top of the pastry with egg and bake in a pre heated oven on 200 degrees C for 30 minutes. Cool before serving.
