Tasty beef burgers made with chunks of ripe mangos and fresh diced chillies. Seasoned with a dash of Worcestershire sauce then fried or barbecued to perfection.


Serves: 8 

  • 2 medium red onions, roughly diced
  • 2 eggs
  • 1kg lean beef mince
  • 2 slices of bread, preferably white, processed into bread crumbs
  • handful of fresh finely chopped coriander
  • 2 teaspoons of finely diced chilli
  • 2 tablespoons of mango chutney
  • 2 tablespoons of mild chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon of vegetable stock powder
  • 1 tablespoon of Gravox
  • splash of Worcestershire sauce
  • salt and pepper, to taste
  • oil for frying

  1. Place onions in large saucepan or bowl. Add both eggs and blend together, using hand mixer, until smooth. Add beef and breadcrumbs, mix with a wooden spoon then blend well with mixer. Add all other ingredients and mix well.
  2. Scoop out a medium handful of the mixture and roll into a ball. Pat down into a disc shape. Heat oil in a fry pan, or lightly oil barbecue plate then cook patties on both sides until cooked to your preference.
  3. Serve in a plain roll, with cheese, thinly sliced onion, tomato, beetroot and lettuce - or any salad combination you like.
