Slow Cooker Caveman Chilli

    This low-carb chilli recipe is for the keto caveman in you with pork and bacon, green capsicum, tomatoes, onion and spices. Making it in a slow cooker makes it a simple, no-fuss recipe.

    • 900g pork mince
    • 8 slices short cut bacon, chopped
    • 1 (400g) can diced tomatoes, drained
    • 1 brown onion, chopped
    • 3 small green capsicums, chopped
    • 1 (185g) can tomato paste
    • 1 (30g) package chilli seasoning
    • 1 pinch garlic powder, or more to taste
    • 1 pinch onion powder, or more to taste
    • salt and ground black pepper to taste
    • 1 pinch ground cayenne pepper, or more to taste

    1. Place pork in a frying pan over medium heat; season with salt and pepper. Cook and stir until browned and crumbly, 5 to 7 minutes. Drain and discard grease. Transfer pork to a slow cooker.
    2. Place bacon in the hot pan and cook over medium-high heat until evenly browned, about 8 minutes. Drain and discard grease. Transfer bacon to the slow cooker.
    3. Combine drained tomatoes, onion, green capsicum, and tomato paste into the slow cooker. Add seasoning packet, garlic powder, onion powder and salt, pepper, cayenne pepper; stir to combine.
    4. Cook on Low until flavours have combined, about 6 hours.
