Air-fried Beef Meatballs

    Although meatballs are quite easy to buy, there is something satisfying about making your own, for starters, you get to add what herbs and spices you want! When I realised how quick things cooked in an air fryer, and how much healthier it was to cook this way, I decided to test out my homemade meatball recipe to see how it measured up in the air fryer - the result? Quick and oh so tasty.

    Ingredients
    Serves: 4 

    • 500g lean beef mince
    • 1 clove garlic, crushed
    • 1 teaspoon dried mixed herbs
    • 1 egg, beaten lightly
    • 1 tablespoon fresh breadcrumbs (optional)

    Directions
    Preparation:10min  ›  Cook:15min  ›  Ready in:25min 

    1. Mix all ingredients together until well combined.
    2. Using your hands, form small round balls (this recipe makes about 16, depending on size of meatballs)
    3. Place meatballs in air fryer and cook at 200 degrees C for 7 minutes. Check half way through and turn over if necessary.
    4. If you want to add a sauce, once the meatballs are cooked transfer them to an ovenproof dish/pan that will fit in the Airfryer. Pour your choice of tomato sauce on top and place container in Airfryer tray. Cook at 180 degrees C until the sauce is warmed through, about 6 to 8 minutes. Serve with spaghetti and melted cheese.
