We Are a Mexican family. We use chopped tomato, a small amount of scallions just the green part, and 1 bunch of chopped fresh cilantro. Don't use salt. It will take out the flavor and make your pico de gallo watery. Pico de gallo is meant to quench the palate not inflame it. We use it top our carnitas tacos primarily.
