Pico De Gallo

    Pico de gallo is an authentic Mexican salsa that you can enjoy with tortilla chips for dipping, or serve with tacos, nachos, black beans, refried beans or almost any Mexican dish!

    Serves: 4 

    • 1 medium tomato, diced
    • 1 onion, finely diced
    • 1/2 fresh jalapeño or green chilli, seeded and diced
    • 2 sprigs fresh coriander, finely diced
    • 1 spring onion, finely diced
    • 1/2 teaspoon garlic granules
    • 1/8 teaspoon salt
    • 1/8 teaspoon pepper

    1. In a medium bowl, combine all ingredients. Stir until evenly distributed. Chill in the fridge for 30 minutes.


    Try using minced fresh garlic instead of the garlic granules for a fresher flavour. 1 to 2 cloves is ideal.

    We Are a Mexican family. We use chopped tomato, a small amount of scallions just the green part, and 1 bunch of chopped fresh cilantro. Don't use salt. It will take out the flavor and make your pico de gallo watery. Pico de gallo is meant to quench the palate not inflame it. We use it top our carnitas tacos primarily.
