Homemade Lemonade

This lemonade will take you right back to those hot childhood summer days. My Mam would make this for me when I was a child and it always hit the spot. It is a refreshing tasty drink that is so simple to make, also children will love getting involved too.

Another tip is to lessen the amount of water when making and to simmer down until you get a very concentrated version. Just then add fizzy water for a refreshing bubbly lemonade!! Also when making, put the lemons themselves into pot while boiling for a better flavour. Peels, lemons and juice.

I just made this for the first time today because it's been so hot and I must say it's the BEST lemonade I've ever had! I had 4 medium sized lemons that needed using up so I threw them into the 3 pints of water and added about 200g of sugar at the end. The result was very strong but after adding a little bit of water and some ice, this lemonade is perfect! It's much better to cook the lemons than just mixing everything with cold water. The result is a lot smoother, and refreshing taste.

I've just made this. Couldn't be easier. I used already boiling water and put it into a large pan with the lemon juice and sugar (not peel as they were waxed lemons). I only let it boil for 5 minutes and the whole house smelled so yummy I couldn't wait to try it. We didn't even let it cool. It was so yummy and warming after being outside in the cold. I'm making this again for sure.
