Homemade Chocolate Liqueur

    A lovely aromatic chocolate and egg liqueur, wonderful in coffee or over desserts such as ice cream. Very festive for Christmas.

    Makes: 1 bottle

    • 5 eggs
    • 10 tablespoons sugar
    • 100g chocolate, grated
    • 1 cup distilled spirits
    • 3/4 boiled and cooled water

    1. Beat the eggs in a mixing bowl over a saucepan of simmering water. Add sugar and whisk constantly until light and fluffy.
    2. Gradually whisk in the grated chocolate. Mix the spirits and water and gradually whisk in. When all is combined, pour into a bottle and seal.
