    Miso soup is a fantastic appetiser and so easy to make. It's best with dashi stock, which you can easily make with instant dashi granules.

    Serves: 3 

    • 3 cups dashi or other soup stock
    • 1/3 cup white miso paste
    • pinch MSG, optional
    • 1/2 cup fresh mushrooms, thinly sliced
    • 2-3 tablespoons sliced spring onions

    Preparation:10min  ›  Cook:5min  ›  Ready in:15min 

    1. Pour the dashi into a saucepan and add miso paste, stirring until smooth. Taste and add more miso paste if it is not strong enough.
    2. When about to serve, add the MSG if using and the mushrooms. Bring to the boil and pour immediately into 3 bowls. Garnish each bowl with sliced spring onions.
