Easiest Onion Soup

    Similar to a French onion soup but so much easier. About the only trouble you have to take is dicing the onions.

    Serves: 4 

    • 4 cups (1 litre) stock such as beef or vegetable
    • 3-4 onions, finely diced
    • 3 tablespoons butter
    • 100g sliced cheese

    Preparation:15min  ›  Cook:25min  ›  Ready in:40min 

    1. Heat the stock in a saucepan. Preheat oven to 200 degrees C.
    2. Melt the butter in a frypan and saute the onions until softened. Add to stock and simmer 15-20 minutes.
    3. Pour the soup into 4 heatproof bowls and top with sliced cheese. Bake 3 minutes and serve.
