This is my go-to recipe for hummus, love it as a dip, spread or even with a salad. Sometime I will add some chilli to spice it up a bit.

Serves: 6 

  • 2 (400g) tins chickpeas
  • 2 lemons, juiced
  • 1/2 cup tahini
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 3 garlic cloves, peeled and crushed
  • cumin, optional
  • salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 tabblespoon olive oil, to garnish

  1. In a food processor or blender puree the chickpeas with the lemon juice.
  2. Add tahini, olive oil, garlic, cumin, salt and pepper. Blend until smooth.
  3. To serve place in a bowl and run a spoon over the top to create grooves. Garnish with olive oil.
