This is my go-to recipe for hummus, love it as a dip, spread or even with a salad. Sometime I will add some chilli to spice it up a bit.
2 (400g) tins chickpeas
2 lemons, juiced
1/2 cup tahini
1/4 cup olive oil
3 garlic cloves, peeled and crushed
salt and pepper, to taste
1 tabblespoon olive oil, to garnish
- In a food processor or blender puree the chickpeas with the lemon juice.
- Add tahini, olive oil, garlic, cumin, salt and pepper. Blend until smooth.
- To serve place in a bowl and run a spoon over the top to create grooves. Garnish with olive oil.
