Homemade Marzipan

    Homemade marzipan is super easy to make and can be used in all kinds of confectionery recipes or just shaped and eaten by itself. A fun Christmas project.

    Ingredients
    Serves: 8 

    • 500g whole almonds, skinned
    • 400g icing sugar
    • few drops almond essence
    • cold water, as needed

    1. Place the almonds, icing sugar and essence in a food processor and finely chop. Gradually add a little cold water until a paste is formed. Every now and then scrape down the sides of the bowl.
    2. Wrap the marzipan in plastic wrap and keep cold until using.
