    This is a chocolate cake I make in my air fryer, I like to use a ring tin as it makes the cooking time even less, perfect for a couple or small family.

    Ingredients
    Serves: 2 

    • 50g caster sugar
    • 50g butter
    • 1 egg
    • 1 tablespoon apricot jam
    • 50g plain flour
    • 1 tablespoon cocoa
    • salt, to taste
    • icing sugar, to present

    Directions
    Preparation:15min  ›  Cook:15min  ›  Ready in:30min 

    1. Preheat the airfryer to 160 degrees C. Spray a small ring cake tin with a non-stick spray.
    2. In a bowl beat the sugar with the softened butter until light and creamy. Add the egg and jam then combine into the butter.
    3. Sift in the flour, cocoa powder and salt. Mix thoroughly.
    4. Transfer the batter to the ring tin and use the back of a spoon to level the surface.
    5. Put the cake tin in the air fryer basket. Set the timer to 15 minutes and bake the cake until a toothpick inserted in the centre of the cake comes out cleanly.

    There are lots of air fryers on the market, this recipe assumes you have a version that has a basket in the bottom.

    Cook in an oven

    If you don't have an air fryer this recipe works well in a toaster oven or normal oven also. Add 5 minutes to the cook time.
