Rinse the chicken wings and pat dry with kitchen paper towels. Place in a non-metallic mixing bowl.
Combine all the remaining ingredients, mix well and pour over the chicken. Rub marinade in with your fingers. Cover and place in the fridge for 24 hours, turning once.
Before cooking, wipe off excess marinade. Cook under the grill on low heat until almost done. Transfer to the bbq to finish off and crisp up the skin, or continue to cook under the grill, raising the heat. Total cooking time should be about 40 minutes.
