Healthy Baked Apples

    Apples are so healthy but most of the recipes then add sugar and butter, this recipe keeps the apple healthy with only the addition of healthy ingredients like cherries and almonds.

    Serves: 4 

    • 4 juicy apples
    • 1/4 cup diced cherries (fresh, frozen, dried or preserved)
    • 2 tablespoons chopped nuts (almond, cashews or pecans)
    • cinnamon, to taste
    • 1/2 cup apple juice
    • 1/2 cup water
    • 2 tablespoons honey, optional

    1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees C.
    2. Peal and core the apples and place them in a casserole dish that has a lid.
    3. Combine the cherries, nuts and cinnamon, then stuff into the apples.
    4. Pour the apple juice and water into the casserole dish then drizzle the honey on the 4 apples.
    5. Put on the lid then bake in an oven for one hour or until the apple is soft all the way through.
