Spaghetti Bolognese, Our Way

A very simple and straightforward spaghetti bolognese recipe that has stood the test of the years!


Serves: 4 

  • 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 1 clove garlic, crushed
  • 175g mushrooms, sliced
  • 500g beef mince
  • 1/2 cup red wine
  • 1 (400g) tin diced tomatoes
  • 1 (170g) tin tomato paste
  • 1-2 pinches oregano
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1/2 packet spaghetti

Preparation:10min  ›  Cook:30min  ›  Ready in:40min 

  1. Heat the oil in saucepan and add the onions and garlic. Cook until the onions are browning slightly then add the mushrooms. Cook a few minutes, stirring constantly.
  2. Add the beef and stir until it breaks up. Add the wine and cook until the mince has browned.
  3. Add the tomatoes, tomato paste, oregano and bay leaf. Stir well. Let simmer while you prepare the pasta.
  4. Cook the spaghetti in boiling salted water until al dente. Drain and serve with the bolognese sauce!
