Chicken Wings with Potatoes and Garlic

This has to be one of the simplest ways you can create a hearty dinner out of chicken wings. A little mixed spice adds interest.

Serves: 4 

  • 1 kg desiree potatoes, cut into 1cm slices
  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • salt, to taste
  • 1 kg chicken wings
  • 1/4 teaspoon allspice
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 3 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 100ml lemon juice

  1. Preheat oven to 200 degrees C.
  2. Toss the potatoes with vegetable oil and salt. Arrange on the bottom of a baking dish.
  3. Season the chicken wings with allspice, nutmeg and more salt. Arrange on top of the potatoes. Bake 1 hour or until wings are brown and meat is falling off the bone.
  4. Mix together the crushed garlic, lemon juice and a dash more salt. Drizzle over the chicken and cook a few more minutes. Serve!
