    This chickpea curry is very common in North India, pretty much any home makes it. It has a very long simmering time but is super easy in the slow cooker.

    Serves: 6 

    • 600g dry chickpeas
    • 1 onion, diced
    • 1 tomato, diced
    • 5cm fresh ginger, diced
    • 4 cloves garlic, diced
    • 4 Thai chillies, diced
    • 1 tablespoon cumin seeds
    • 1 tablespoon ground coriander
    • 1 tablespoon garam masala
    • 1 tablespoon chana masala spice
    • 1 tablespoon chilli powder
    • 2 teaspoons salt
    • 1 teaspoon turmeric
    • 12 cups water
    • coriander leaves, to garnish

    1. In a slow cooker or crock pot mix together the chickpeas, onion, tomato, ginger, garlic, chillies, cumin, coriander, garam masala, chana masala, chilli powder, salt, turmeric and water. Cook on high 14 hours.
    2. Serve garnished with coriander leaves.
