Persimmons are a very sweet fruit so this tart does not have any added sugar. Serve warm or cold with a dash of thickened cream.


Makes: 1 pie

  • 1 premade pie shell
  • 400g mashed persimmons
  • 1 tin (400g) unsweetened condensed milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • pinch nutmeg
  • 2 pinches ground ginger
  • pinch salt

Preparation:15min  ›  Cook:50min  ›  Ready in:1hour5min 

  1. Preheat oven to 220 degrees C.
  2. In a mixing bowl combine persimmons, condensed milk, eggs, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger and salt. Pour into the pie shell.
  3. Bake 10 minutes then reduce the oven heat to 180 degrees C and bake 40 more minutes until the filling is set. Let cool.
