Preheat the grill. Cut the capsicum in half and remove the seeds. Place on a baking tray skin side up and grill until blackened, about 10 minutes. Place in a plastic bag and seal - this will make it easier to peel. After about 10 minutes peel and diced the capsicum.
In a salad bowl combine the toasted bread cubes, capsicum, chicory or radicchio, capers, tomatoes and cucumber.
In a small bowl combine vinegar, oil, anchovy, salt and pepper. Whisk well and drizzle over the salad. Garnish with torn basil leaves.
