Warm Chocolate Cake Dessert

    I love chocolate cake when it is still warm for dessert served with ice cream, fresh fruit, chocolate sauce or even just whipped cream.

    Serves: 6 

    • Pudding
    • 200g butter
    • 200g caster sugar
    • 200g self raising flour
    • 1 teaspoon baking powder
    • 3 eggs
    • 3 tablespoons cocoa powder, mixed with 3 tablespoons hot water
    • 100g broken chocolate pieces
    • Sauce
    • 100g dark chocolate
    • 100g icing sugar
    • 100g butter
    • 4 tablespoons milk

    1. Pudding: Cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Stir in the flour and baking powder.
    2. Add the eggs and combine well then stir in the cocoa slurry. Finally add the broken chocolate pieces.
    3. Bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees C for 18 to 20 minutes.
    4. Sauce: In a bowl over a simmering saucepan of water add all the ingredients until the butter and chocolate have melted and everything is well combined.
    5. To Serve: Cut a piece of the still warm pudding then serve in a bowl covered with the chocolate sauce.
