Savoury Sausage and Vegetable Rolls

    I planned to make sausage rolls for dinner then got guests so needed to pad it out a bit so now we have savoury rolls with mixed vegetables and more spices.

    Serves: 10 

    • 1 packet sausage meat
    • 1 small onion, finely diced
    • 2 cloves garlic, finely diced
    • 1 1/2 cups frozen mixed vegetables
    • 1 egg
    • 1 tablespoon curry powder (Keens)
    • 1 teaspoon cumin
    • 1 teaspoon beef stock powder
    • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
    • 6 sheets puff pastry
    • 2 tablespoons milk
    • sesame seeds, to serve

    1. Combine the sausage meat, onion, garlic, frozen mixed vegetables, egg, curry powder, cumin, beef stock and Worcestershire sauce until well combined. Divide the mixture into 6 equal parts.
    2. Lay the puff pastry sheets out, add the sausage meat along one side then roll it up to create the roll. Using the back of a knife push down in even intervals to create to place where the roll can later be cut up to make smaller portions. Brush with the milk then sprinkle with the sesame seeds.
    3. Bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees C for 30 minutes or until the sausage meat is cooked all the way through.
