Chocolate Truffle Balls

    This is my go to chocolate ball recipe and is an ideal use for leftover chocolate cake or chocolate cake that is starting to go hard.

    Serves: 6 

    • 1/2 cup dried apricots
    • 2 tablespoons Grand Mariner
    • 1 1/2 cups chocolate cake crumbs
    • 150g dark chocolate, melted

    Preparation:25min  ›  Extra time:20min soaking  ›  Ready in:45min 

    1. Dice the apricots as finely as you can then place them in a bowl with the Grand Mariner to soak for 20 minutes.
    2. In a large bowl combine the chocolate crumbs with the melted chocolate and diced apricots with any liquid not soaked in.
    3. Mold the mixture into small balls. The balls can be finished the same or differently; options include, rolling in cocoa powder, rolling in icing sugar, dipping in more melted chocolate or a combination thereof.
