Easy Thai BBQ Beef Salad

    I like to cook a nice piece of steak on the BBQ then add it to a beautiful salad with a rich and tangy Thai salad dressing.

    Serves: 4 

    • Dressing
    • 2 cloves garlic, crushed
    • 1 chilli, finely diced, optional
    • 1 spring mint leaves, finely diced
    • 1/3 cup lime juice
    • 1 tablespoon vinegar
    • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
    • 1 teaspoon brown sugar
    • Salad
    • 4 cups lettuce, torn
    • 200g bean sprouts
    • 1/2 cup carrot, cut into sticks
    • 1/2 cup mint, finely diced
    • 1/2 cup coriander
    • Steak
    • 500g steak
    • salt and pepper, to taste

    1. Dressing: In a small bowl, combine the garlic, chilli, mint, lime juice, vinegar, soy sauce and sugar.
    2. Salad: In a serving bowl combine the lettuce, bean sprouts, carrot, mint and coriander then toss.
    3. Steak: Preheat the BBQ to moderate heat and oil the grate. Sprinkle the steak with salt and pepper then grill about five minutes a side or until browned to your preference. Let rest a few minutes.
    4. To Serve: Thinly slice the steak and lay over the salad then drizzle the dressing.
