Cream Cheese and Chicken Pizza

    This is a very simple pizza recipe but what a flavour! The base is spread with cream cheese before topping with the chicken/tomato mixture. Even easier if you use a premade base.

    Makes: 1 pizza

    • For the dough
    • 10g dried yeast
    • 1/2 teaspoon sugar
    • 1 1/2 cups (375ml) warm water
    • 1 teaspoon salt
    • 2 tablespoons olive oil
    • 400g plain flour, more if needed
    • For the topping
    • 2 cups cooked and shredded chicken
    • 2 cups tomato pizza sauce
    • 200g cream cheese, softened
    • dried oregano, to taste

    1. Dissolve the sugar and yeast in the warm water. Add the olive oil and half of the flour and salt. Mix with a spoon to form a soft dough.
    2. Turn out the dough onto a floured surface and gradually knead in the remaining flour until dough is smooth. Cover with a cloth and allow to rise until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
    3. Preheat oven to 200 degrees C.
    4. In a bowl, mix the shredded chicken with the tomato pizza sauce. Roll out the dough on a pizza tray and spread with the cream cheese. Put the chicken filling on top and sprinkle with oregano. Bake 15 minutes or until dough is done.
