Delicious, moorish, a great hit with kids! A great lunchbox snack, and so quick to make, you could make this every day!

Serves: 4

  • 140g (5oz) butter
  • 1 big dollop of either honey or golden syrup
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1 cup sultanas
  • 1/2 cup flour (either self-raising or plain)
  • 1/2 cup desiccated coconut
  • 1/2 cup sugar

Preparation:10min  ›  Cook:20min  ›  Extra time:30min cooling  ›  Ready in:1hour

  1. Turn your oven on, set to 180 degrees C.
  2. In a saucepan, melt the butter and the honey/golden syrup.
  3. While the butter is melting, combine all dry ingredients.
  4. Add melted butter mix to the dry ingredients.
  5. Press firmly into a slice pan approx 12cm x 30cm (12" x 5").
  6. Bake in the oven for approx 20 mins (or until nice and golden brown).
  7. Allow the slice to cool completely before cutting. It just allows the slice to cut much easier!
  8. Enjoy!

I would make this every single day, and once you have made it, you will also probably make it daily too!

Easentially, it's an Anzac cookie in slice form. Easy. Tasty & definately moorish. Fantastic as a school lunchbox filler. I used quick oats as I was out of rolled oats. No dramas. It was slightly buttery but I'll just reduce the quantity on my next bake by 10-15g & gain the consistency with a dash of milk. - 03 Apr 2015
