Easy Chocolate Self Saucing Pudding

    A quick and easy Chocolate pudding that can be made from a few ingredients commonly found in you cupboard. Doesn't require eggs. Soft and fluffy, you can make it as rich as you want . Even add choc chunks if you want to go for the triple choc delight.

    Serves: 4 

    • 1 cup self raising flour
    • 1 tablespoon cocoa
    • 3/4 cup white sugar
    • 2 tablespoons melted butter
    • 3/4 cup (187ml) milk
    • 1/2 cup brown sugar for sauce
    • 1 tablespoon cocoa for sauce
    • 1 1/2 cups of boiling water for sauce

    1. Preheat oven at 180 degrees C.
    2. Grease a casserole dish well with some additional butter.
    3. Mix flour, cocoa and sugar.
    4. Add melted butter and milk to flour mix a little at time making sure you have no lumps.
    5. Pour into prepared casserole dish (mixture will be quite runny).
    6. In a small dish, mix the cocoa and brown sugar for the sauce until combined.
    7. Sprinkle cocoa and brown sugar mix evenly over the top of your batter in the casserole dish. (Do not mix in.)
    8. Carefully pour boiling water for sauce over the top of your mixture and put in casserole dish in the oven.
    9. Bake for approx 45 mins (the pudding should be a soft sponge like consistency and the sauce will have gone through the pudding and be on the bottom of the casserole dish).
    10. Serve whilst hot with cream or icecream.
