This is one recipe that I make often. It is very easy and does not take a lot of time to pull together - but it tastes great.

Serves: 2 

  • 1 can red kidney beans (can substitute with black or cannellini beans)
  • 1 can diced tomatos
  • 2-3 cloves of garlic
  • 1 onion (medium to large sized)
  • chili powder (1 teaspoon or to taste)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Preparation:10min  ›  Cook:25min  ›  Ready in:35min 

  1. Dice onion and garlic.
  2. Heat oil in saucepan.
  3. Cook onion and garlic for 2 minutes.
  4. Drain and rinse red kidney beans.
  5. Add red kidney beans to saucepan. Stir.
  6. Add diced tomato. Stir.
  7. Add chili powder. Stir.
  8. Cook for about 20 minutes. Stir pot regularly.


Very versatile dish. Can be served with rice, pasta or works well as the filling in a toasted sandwich.
