Watercress Waldorf Salad

    20 minutes

My version of this classic salad differs in that for the dressing, I use apple juice and yoghurt mixed in with the mayonnaise.

The tartness of the apples, and the sweetness of the grapes are good complements to the peppery watercress. The yogurt and apple juice dressing lighten what traditionally is a very heavy dressing on waldorf salads. All of the ingredients work well together, resulting in a fresh, crisp and light salad.  -  22 May 2013

I liked the recipe however it was a little too 'onion-y' for me. Next time I will put only a little onion in instead.  -  22 Apr 2001  (Review from Allrecipes USA and Canada)

I wasn't paying attention and accidentally bought some watercress at the grocery store. I did an ingredient search and came up with this recipe, which I had everything on hand for. I've heard of waldorf salad but never tried it, so I was a little sceptical about combining spices and chives with yogurt, mayo, fruit, and this new green leafy thing. Boy am I glad I did! We followed the recipe exactly and it came out GREAT! I'll be buying watercress on purpose from now on just to make this recipe.  -  06 Aug 2007  (Review from Allrecipes USA and Canada)
