Preheat oven to 180 degrees C. Grease and flour a cake tin.
Sift together flour and baking powder. Dissolve baking soda and coffee in the hot milk then set aside to cool. Cream together butter and sugar. Beat in egg, banana and the milk. Stir in the flour then mix until well combined.
Pour into prepared tin then bake in preheated oven for 30 minutes or until a knife inserted into the centre comes out clean. Allow to cool then ice with your favourite cream cheese icing.
Can also be made into 12-16 cupcakes by pouring into a muffin tin lined with paper baking liners.
